Biography
Iro received her degree in English Literature from the School of Philosophy in Athens, Greece, and carried on in the same department to complete a two-year MA programme in Literature, Ideology, and Narratology.
Iro has recently completed her thesis titled 'The Tropics of Trauma: Affective Representations of War Narratives, 1926-2006', which grapples with traumatic war affects from a counter-political perspective and their collective and individual nuances.
Research and Teaching Interests
Iro’s interests that pertain to the field of Medical Humanities include: bodily trauma and its representation, disease and the formation of national boundaries, horror film representations of madness, anatomy and travel writing, and bodies constructed through science fiction narratives.
