The discussion group is composed of researchers and interested parties from the arts, humanities, social sciences, and medical, veterinary and life sciences – all are welcome! We are particularly engaged with combining professional and patient perspectives in our discussions of ’embodied life’. It is our hope that this blogsite will encourage productive debate amongst the medical humanities community in Glasgow, and provide a useful resource for collating reviews of resources, events, and seminars.
Our Glasgow medical humanities discussion group meets regularly throughout the year. In the academic year 2016-16, this group is organised and convened by Dr Cheryl McGeachan, a Lecturer in the School of Geographical and Earth Sciences. The discussion group is a forum for work-in-progress presentations and friendly discussion. All are welcome. If you would like further information, or to propose a paper, please contact Cheryl.
The meetings all take place between 1-2pm in Room 311 in the East Quadrangle, in the Main Building at Glasgow University. Tea/coffee and biscuits will be provided.
The MHRC is co-directed by Dr David Shuttleton and Dr Gavin Miller. The website is run by Dr Hannah Tweed, a researcher at the University of Glasgow.
